Thomas William Hoffman, 63, of Arlington Hts., IL, passed away, Monday, March 23, 2015 at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 9:00 pm, Friday, March 27th at Freidrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
A short service will be held on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00am at the Funeral home.
Thomas was born September 7, 1951 in Oak Park, IL to William and Anne (Schafer) Hoffman. He graduated from Steinmetz High School in 1969 and attended the Music Conservatory of Chicago. On August 28, 1983 he married the former Julia O’Malley in Rolling Meadows, IL. Thomas was employed as a salesman of office furniture/supplies before retiring in 2000.
His two biggest passions in life included his love for music and sports. He was a skilled musician, songwriter, and performer, as well as an avid volunteer coach for both the Arlington Hts. Youth Basketball and Athletic Associations, coaching for over 15 years.
Thomas is survived by his two sons and two daughters, Meghan Anne Hoffman and her s.o. Dominick of Bolingbrook, IL, Bridget Mary Hoffman and her husband Paul of Schaumburg, IL, Patrick Thomas Hoffman and his s.o. Laure of Mt. Prospect, IL, Sean Michael O’Malley Hoffman and his wife Amy of Bourbonnais, IL; his sisters Bonita Clemens of Redding, CA and Sandra Dimakopoulos of Vista, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anne, his brother Donald Hoffman, and his wife Julia Hoffman (O’Malley).
